May Presidential Search Update – Position Specification Posted

HMC Community,

I am writing to share an update on the progress of the Harvey Mudd College presidential search and to thank everyone who participated in the various surveys and focus groups to share your ideas, concerns and aspirations for HMC and our next president.

The presidential search committee and SpencerStuart spent the last month bringing together your diverse ideas and perspectives to create a position description that informs and appeals to prospective candidates. The position specification highlights some of the many special attributes of Harvey Mudd College and presents a summary of the opportunities for the next president while emphasizing the desired qualifications and personal characteristics you believed essential to our next president’s success. It was developed with broad input from the alumni, faculty, parents, staff, students, trustees and friends of the College.

SpencerStuart will share this document with prospective candidates, and it will be posted on our Presidential Search website where you can download and share it with potential candidates. I hope you take a moment to review the Presidential Position Specification and nominate candidates you believe would be a great fit for this important leadership role.
