Harvey Mudd Ranks High in U.S. News and World Report 2025

Harvey Mudd College ranked No. 12 among all national liberal arts colleges in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2025, moving up four places from last year’s ranking.

In the liberal arts college subcategory lists, Harvey Mudd ranked No. 12 for Senior Capstone Programs, No. 13 for Undergraduate Research, No. 13 for Most Innovative Schools, No. 42 for Undergraduate Teaching and No. 77 for Best Value Schools.

The College’s undergraduate engineering program ranked No. 3 among non-doctorate granting institutions.  

Harvey Mudd’s engineering program was also recognized in the Best in the Specialties section, coming in at No. 3 in mechanical engineering, No. 3 in electrical engineering and No. 5 in computer engineering. Harvey Mudd offers a general engineering degree that emphasizes experiential, hands-on learning and team-based projects with real-world applications.

In year five of U.S. News & World Report’s ranking of computer science programs, which includes both doctoral and non-doctoral granting institutions, Harvey Mudd came in at No. 29 (tied) and was the highest-ranked undergraduate-only college on the list. The College ranked No. 25 in the subdiscipline of artificial intelligence.
