Here’s more about Muneeza:
What is your favorite part about your job and why?
The challenge of putting concepts or stories in words that will resonate with the intended audience.
What is something people don’t understand about your job that you wish they did?
Though I’ve been writing and an avid reader since I was a kid, I still google grammar rules and refer to house style on a regular basis.
If you could swap jobs with any other HMC employee for a day, who would it be and why?
Someone in the bakery because I’ve heard they craft amazing goods. I’d like to take the product home.
What’s your favorite food/dish in the Hoch-Shanahan Dining Hall?
Paneer tikka masala with steamed white rice.
What HMC events have made you feel really connected to other HMC colleagues?
I haven’t participated in many, but the OCA holiday party was a nice opportunity to meet advancement colleagues, and I enjoy connecting with my own team on a weekly basis.
What is your favorite hobby, activity or creative outlet?
Writing pieces of wisdom that come to me at random times. Crocheting. Indulging in my husband’s love of slasher films.
What is the best piece of advice someone has given you, either in life or at work?
I gave it to myself. Losing my parents at a young age taught me that life is too short not to be happy and spread happiness.
What is your most effective strategy for dealing with stress?
Laughter and tears, doses of each when needed.
Are you studying or learning something new? (a skill, a language, a sport, etc.)
I’ve taken up graphic design, and I’m drawing more in my spare time.
What book or podcast are you enjoying right now?
The Unlocking Us with Brene Brown podcast.
