Harvey Mudd College Homework Hotline to Pause for 2024–2025 Academic Year

The Harvey Mudd College Homework Hotline, a helpful resource for local students, will be temporarily non-operational for the 2024–2025 academic year as it undergoes a strategic evaluation and enhancement process. Since its return in fall 2021, the program has experienced a decrease in usage, prompting a thorough review to better serve the community’s concerns and priorities.

The Homework Hotline will take a hiatus during the 2024–2025 academic year. During this time, program staff will collect data from the community and research best practices. They will collaborate with surrounding school districts to comprehensively assess the community’s needs and priorities. This includes understanding the resources currently being provided to students and gathering feedback from students and educators on what support they find most valuable. The evaluation will also involve researching similar programs to learn from their successful strategies.

“We are committed to enhancing the Homework Hotline to better serve our students and community,” said Gabriela Gamiz, director of civic and community engagement. “By pausing operations for the upcoming academic year, we can focus on gathering essential insights and developing a more effective and impactful program.”

At the end of the 2024–2025 academic year, the Homework Hotline staff will compile the findings and submit a comprehensive proposal outlining the path forward for the program. The aim is to relaunch a more robust and responsive program that meets the evolving priorities of the community.
