Presentation Days Displays Student Research
April 22, 2013More than 300 students will present their research results May 6 and 8, during the 43rd Annual Presentation Days at Harvey Mudd College.
The free, public event provides a platform for undergraduate students to unveil findings from their individual and team research projects.
This year’s projects explore a variety of topics, including alternative energy, hypersonic rocket design, biodiversity and the use of mathematical models to study tumor growth. They represent a breadth of scientific fields including engineering, biology, chemistry, physics, rocketry, medicine, mathematics and computation.
Results from the Introduction to Engineering Design projects, involving teams of first-year and sophomore students, will also be presented.
The two-day event will begin with a poster session at 9 a.m. Monday, May 6, in Platt Campus Center. Student presentations will begin across campus at 11 a.m.
The program will close with musical performances—featuring student compositions and jazz improvisations—from 7-10 p.m. Wednesday, May 8 in the Platt Campus Center Green Room.
All presentations and performances are free and open to the public.
