At Harvey Mudd College, we’re on a mission to train the next generation of engineers, scientists and mathematicians to become impactful leaders who will transform the future. Curious in learning how we do it?
We invite all prospective students and parents, guardians and loved ones to join us for our annual Mudd Virtual Discovery Day (MVDD) on Wednesday, August 7th from 3:00 PM PDT to 4:30 PM PDT, followed by an optional social just for students.
Through engaging showcases, live tours, interactive activities and insightful panels, you’ll hear faculty, staff, alumni and current students share about:

| Discovery, Innovation and Impact: A Mudd Research Showcase | The future is now! Enjoy a sneak peek of our labs and clinic spaces and learn how you can change the world through groundbreaking research at Mudd (and, quite literally, save the planet). |
| Live from the Mudd Makerspace: Where Creativity and Inventions Come to Life! | See where the magic happens by touring our machine shop, wood shop and makerspace. Who knows? You might even see a student-built plane made entirely from scratch. |
| Why Mudd’s Curriculum? (Recommended for family members) | Hear from faculty and alumni about what makes Mudd’s interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to education distinct and the outcomes of our students that make it all worth it. |
| Your Home Away from Home: Residential Culture at Mudd | Interested in what our dorms look like? They each have a different personality! Follow along as Mudders take you inside a few and share stories about their traditions. By the end, you might have a dream dorm. |
| Life Outside the Classroom: Finding Community and Friends at Mudd | Gather around for a candid conversation with Mudders about the affinity groups, clubs and spaces where you will find your people and the resources that will help you make the most of your experience. |
| Elevating Mudders to Thrive (Recommended for family members) | Our Division of Student Affairs will answer all of your burning questions about the resources we provide for Mudders to academically, mentally, socially and personally thrive in a rigorous environment. |
Most of this event, including session breakouts, will be recorded and posted on this webpage. Additionally, attendees will not be required to turn on their cameras or microphones although it may be encouraged during session breakouts.
