Career Services for GOLD Alumni
Remember all the career support that was available to you as a student? You still have access to it as an alum! The Office of Career Services (OCS) will continue to support you in your endeavors beyond Harvey Mudd College. Whether you are a recent graduate seeking help perfecting a resume or graduate school application, an employed alum interested in recruiting for your organization, or a proud graduate several years out eager to share your professional story with students, OCS is here for you and welcomes your engagement. There is never a charge for services.
Below are tools you can access directly. For anything else, email the Office of Career Services (career_services@g.hmc.edu) or your GOLD liaisons (gold@hmc.edu).
Handshake
- You can still log in to your account on Handshake as an alum, using your HMC credentials.
- Use Handshake to set up an appointment to meet with a career advisor.
- Search job postings.
- Register for HMC career fairs in fall and spring as a seeker or recruiter.
- If you’re a recruiter, create an employer account on Handshake (please use your company email address) to post positions, host info sessions or conduct on-campus interviews.
MuddCompass
- Tap into the HMC network by using MuddCompass to connect directly with fellow Mudders online.
- Search for alumni by company, field of employment, class year, geographical location and other attributes of interest.
- Message in real time and set up virtual or in-person meetings.
- Find additional resources including discussion groups, alumni job postings and helpful tutorials.
- Check out these quick-start steps to get you started.
- Join the Harvey Mudd College Alumni Association LinkedIn group, if you haven’t already.
- Look for posted jobs, ask for career advice or engage in professional conversation.
- You may also post jobs there if you know of any job opportunities.
Interstride
- Discover jobs and internships in the US and around the world.
- Connect with your international community.
- Find resources to level up your global career.
- Open to current students and alumni.

- Use Handshake to set up up a one-on-one appointment with a career advisor.
- Come to an Alumni Resume Review, offered several times throughout the year.
- Ask for help on MuddCompass or LinkedIn.
- Get in touch at gold@hmc.edu if you would like to participate as an alumni reviewer.
