The Georg Fischer Signet Clinic team has implemented a prototype for a low-cost non-contacting level sensor with Bluetooth capability to augment Georg Fischer’s current sensor suite. The prototype utilizes frequency-modulated continuous wave radar to conduct range measurements and is robust to obstructions that may be present in the industrial tank environment. The team benchmarked competitor’s sensors to quantify performance of the prototype as well as measurement quality relative to devices already in the field.
