To facilitate a more circular and sustainable recycling process for plastics, Origin Materials has introduced a new bottle cap technology applicable to a variety of products that is made out of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), as opposed to traditional bottle caps typically made from polyethylene (HDPE). This innovation enables mono-material PET packaging. The team is surveying the public on their perception of one version
of these new caps to validate Origin’s design direction. Concurrently, the team is also
investigating expected advantages to existing plastic recycling processes.
