As a first step toward finding and mitigating network-based attacks, the goal of this project is to develop a benchtop 4G-LTE network testbed with the ability to access and modify internal hardware and software states to find vulnerabilities within the 4G protocol. The testbed will consist of a cell tower and user equipment assembled using COTS hardware and open source implementation libraries, with the eventual goal of finding vulnerabilities in 4G network implementations.
