To improve fuel efficiency, jet engine manufacturers are designing more compact engines. Meggitt is supporting that effort by developing electro-mechanical components capable of operation closer to the extreme vibration and temperature environment of an engine core, up to 400° (752°). The team has developed solutions for the electrical wires in those components to be distinctly identifiable throughout their life cycles and to be joined to themselves and other components while maintaining good electrical properties in those operating conditions.
