Given the nuances in satisfying all stakeholders, sports tournament scheduling can’t be completely automated. This project is creating a software system that keeps humans integral to the schedule-making process by (a) allowing the user to input several different constraints to the schedule, such as minimum number of home games per team or desired game dates, (b) providing a measurement of many different types of “schedule goodness,” and (c) offering a convenient interface for generating and saving schedules under consideration.
