CS Colloquium Welcomes First Speaker of the Semester: Jessica Guo

Join us for the first CS Colloquium speaker of the semester on September 6th at 11:00 AM in Shanahan 1430, featuring Jessica Guo from Harvey Mudd College’s Hixon/Biology department. Her talk, titled “The Science, Data, and Data Science of Plant Water Potential”, will delve into how climate change intensifies plant water stress, affecting vital processes like water transport and growth.

Guo will also highlight her work with PSInet, an NSF-funded initiative focused on harmonizing plant water potential data to drive interdisciplinary research. This project underscores the vital role data science plays in building infrastructure that supports accurate, cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Refreshments will be available while supplies last. We are excited to see you there!
