Ayah Hamdallah
Graduate AssistantShe/Herahamdallah@hmc.edu
Ayah Hamdallah is a current Masters of Public Policy student at UCLA, with an education policy concentration. During her time in undergrad at UCLA, Ayah discovered her passion for student mentorship and her interest in advancing equity in higher education. As a first-generation college student, Ayah experienced firsthand the unique challenges first-gen students often face when navigating unfamiliar academic environments and barriers to opportunities, thus, motivating her to pursue roles within UCLA’s Academic Advancement Program and UCLA’s CCCP Office where she partook in mentorship and the promotion of accessible support programs to first-generation, low-income, and historically underrepresented students in higher education. Her experiences in undergrad shaped her desire to foster inclusive and supportive educational systems, and led her to pursue her Master’s degree.
Prior to becoming the Graduate Assistant here at the Office of Institutional Diversity, Ayah had worked at the Office of Advancement and Communications at Pitzer College. Being able to experience firsthand the impact and opportunities within higher education throughout her different work experiences has been rewarding and impactful, and she is excited to continue her time at the 7C’s during her role at Harvey Mudd.
