The Donald and Dorothy Strauss Internship for Social Understanding

The Donald and Dorothy Strauss Internship for Social Understanding was established by Donald and Dorothy Strauss to engender in the participating students a significant and deep commitment to a lifetime of service activities. The stipend award is up to $7,000 and meant to help offset incidental expenses (travel, housing, commuter costs, etc.).

Requirements

  • Unpaid or low-paying internship
  • Minimum of 240 hours of supervised work
  • Non-profit organizations in or near Claremont or local to your hometown

Division of Infections Diseases and Geographic Medicine

The goal of the lab is to develop a better understanding of how the immune system operates, specifically how it recognizes and responds to viruses. This research will be used to develop new ways of preventing and treating diseases.

Cafe Con Libros

They are providing a space for the residents of Pomona to bond together over art and literature, or really in whatever way they want. It’s a space anyone in the community can use to try to reach out and connect with other people in Pomona.
