“Donor support was incredibly helpful in allowing me to perform a few experiments in the fall of 2020 [despite the COVID-19 pandemic]. Although these experiments were not the ones I had originally planned on that required student support, they were vital for (1) establishing a new collaboration aimed at identifying new therapeutic drugs for trypanosomiasis and (2) piloting some of the projects that I had proposed in my grant applications. I also am so grateful for the donor support that allowed my student to attend an online parasitology conference. When I spoke with my student afterward, she was very happy to have had the experience of presenting her work to an international cadre of experts.”
