OID Search Update
March 5, 2018Dear HMC Community,
Thank you all for your participation in the Associate Dean for Institutional Diversity search. The search committee has conducted a comprehensive search over the past several months, and overall reviewed 91 applications, conducted 10 candidate phone interviews, and completed 5 on-campus interviews. One offer was extended to a candidate, but was declined due to an alternate offer.
At this point, given the close timing of hiring the new VP for Student Affairs/DOS, the College has determined that we will delay filling the Associate Dean for Institutional Diversity position until after the VP for Student Affairs/DOS is hired. This will allow the new VP for Student Affairs/DOS to play a central role in the search process for this key leadership position and provide the new Associate Dean the opportunity to know their supervisor upon arriving at HMC.
In the meantime, I will continue to work with Dean Zack and his exemplary staff team Jonathan Chan, Luis Jacobo, Cleo Thelus, Diana Aguilar, and Gerardo Cuevas to ensure OID is fully supported throughout the semester and summer, as the search progresses.
Best wishes,
Jon
