Stephanie Moyerman is Apker finalist

Stephanie Moyerman is one of three finalists for the American Physical Society’s Apker Award for the outstanding undergraduate in physics at a non-PhD-granting institution. Because Stephanie is currently on a one-year Watson Fellowship studying judo throughout the world, and because the Watson Foundation forbids its fellows from returning to American soil during their wander year, Prof. James Eckert set up a video teleconference from London to Stanford University, where the Apker panel met to interview the finalists. Congratulations to Stephanie and to Professors Eckert and Sparks in whose laboratory Stephanie worked. The winner will be announced in mid October.
