Update on the Teaching and Learning Building
June 16, 2016Construction of the new Teaching and Learning Building (TLB) continues apace; the siding will go on starting towards the end of December, and the exterior walls and windows should be completed in early January, one hopes in time to keep winter rains out.
Taking advantage of good weather to hoist palettes of sheet rock to the third floor.
Basement and Ground Floor
We were unable to tour the basement, which has a concert hall, the demonstration prep room, and lots of classrooms.
Looking north into the below-ground courtyard. The elevator shaft is at the back right, just behind the sunny patch.
Looking east into the large, terraced auditorium (capacity 300).

The large lecture hall. The brick wall at the front of the class will be covered with wood paneling. The corner of the A/V room can be seen at the lower right.
Second Floor
One of the 40-person classrooms on the second floor. The current Learning Studio is rated for 40 students, but is much smaller than the 40-person rooms in the TLB.
